SUNDAY IN THE PARK: Getting outside, together

Families are invited to slow things down and soak up the beauty of autumn at Sunday in the Park, rounding out Tumut’s beloved Falling Leaf Festival on Sunday 3 May.

Held in the leafy surrounds of Rotary Pioneer Park, this relaxed, family-friendly day offers the perfect opportunity to unwind after Saturday’s high-energy celebrations. With the street parade, rodeo and evening events behind you, Sunday is all about reconnecting—nature, creativity and community.

Following the First Super Fun Run and Colour Run, children and families can dive into a range of hands-on outdoor experiences designed to spark imagination and curiosity.

Get creative with Melissa Martin’s Groovy Craft, where colour, texture and a touch of retro flair come together in fun, accessible art-making. Step into culture and Country with Shane Herrington’s Wolgalu Footprints, an engaging experience that shares stories, knowledge and connection to place. And for young explorers, Snowy Sprouts Nature School offers immersive, play-based activities that encourage kids to learn through the natural environment.

Franklin Public School will be staffing the sausage sizzle, there’ll be a coffee van on site too - so you’re all sorted!

Marty’s Music School buskers will be showing off their talent and a special performance from our local Fijian community will take place at midday.

The Pretty Amazing Jono will be there too! Creating mayhem and merriment and probably roping Marty into someting outrageous.

Set against the golden hues of Tumut’s autumn leaves, Sunday in the Park is a chance to lay out a picnic rug, listen to live music, and let the kids roam, create and discover. It’s a gentle, grounding way to finish the festival weekend—one that celebrates the simple joy of being outdoors together.

Whether you’ve danced in the streets, cheered at the rodeo or are just joining for the day, Sunday in the Park is your invitation to pause, breathe and enjoy the quieter side of Falling Leaf Festival (except for the Fun Run part… some folks take that really seriously :-)).
