World water speed record holder Ken Warby and son David are heading to Tumut.

Get up close and personal with the World Unlimited Water Speed Record Champion Ken and his son, David on Festival Day.

Hosted by Tumut’s Rotary Club, Ken and David will ride Rowan Bieske’s Triumph Stag in the Coles Street Parade and then be available to sign autographs and talk all things water racing at Rotary’s stand near Tumut Valley Appliances.

Hear first-hand about that amazing day back in 1978 when Ken beat his own record and set a new unbeaten one of 511.11kph, and find out how David is preparing to best his dad's record speed later this year.

You will also be able to watch the DVD of Ken’s record breaking races and who knows, David might even bring his new boat!

Ken and David are looking forward very much to spending the weekend in Tumut and we are looking forward to seeing them both.

The Festival is thrilled to have Tony Edwards, Juan Luis Del Carmen and friends on site at the Snowy Hydro Street Event representing the great water sport of fly-fishing.

Tumut local  and TR Fly Shop and Drifters Fishing Tour's owner, Tony Edwards will be joined by professional Federation of Fly Fishers fly casting instructor Juan Luis Del Carmen and others to showcase their passion and skills in fly-fishing including holding live casting demonstrations and answering all your fly fishing related questions.

“We think being involved in the Festival will help to promote the area as a great Trout and native fishing location and promote catch and release as the best way to make the fishery sustainable for the future. Hopefully people will see the potential in our recreational sport and take it up and enjoy the Tumut area for what it has to offer the angler”, said Tony Edwards

Tony is an avid fly angler of nearly 50 years in the Tumut River Valley and Western side of the Snowy Mountains.  He learnt his angling craft from one of the forefathers of fly fishing in the area, Jack Smart.  Juan specialises in presentation casts and advanced river craft techniques and has given demonstrations around the globe.  He is also a very accomplished saltwater and freshwater fly tyer.

We can’t wait to see them in action on Saturday 29 April.  You’ll find Tony, Juan and team in the driveway of the old Mitre 10
